Lingo Pairs is a free vocabulary matching game. This page explains what information the app touches when you play, in plain language.

The short version

There is no account, no login, and no personal data collection. You do not give us your name, email, or any other identifying information to play. Anything you type (a display name, a chat message) exists only for as long as your game room is active and is not tied to who you are.

What we do not collect

• No account creation, no email address, no password.
• No location data.
• No device identifiers used for tracking or advertising.
• No analytics or tracking software of any kind.
• No advertising, and no third-party ad networks.
• No selling or sharing of data with anyone, because there is no personal data to sell or share.

What does exist, and where it lives

Display name

When you join a game room, you type a name so other players can tell you apart. That name is only used inside that game room, for the players in that room, and is not saved on our servers once the room ends. It is not linked to any account because there are no accounts.

Chat messages

Each game room has a chat panel. Messages you send are visible only to the other players currently in that same room. The app keeps the most recent 60 messages per room; older messages are dropped automatically as new ones come in. Chat is not saved anywhere permanent, monitored for marketing purposes, or shared outside the room.

Language and sound preferences, and solo practice results

If you use the solo practice mode, your personal best times and move counts, along with your last-picked languages and sound setting, are saved only in your own browser's local storage, on your own device. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Game rooms

Rooms are created when a player starts one and are meant to be short-lived, tied to a single game session shared by a link. Rooms are not intended to persist once the session ends, and room contents are not something we treat as a permanent record.

Standard web and network logs

Like any website, the infrastructure that delivers Lingo Pairs may keep ordinary short-lived technical logs, such as connection requests, purely to keep the service running and secure. We do not control the retention period of these logs. They are not used to identify or track individual players, and are separate from anything the game itself stores.

Children and COPPA

Lingo Pairs is an educational game and may be used by children, including children under 13. We designed it with that in mind: there is no account creation, no email collection, no persistent profile, and no advertising, so the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Names typed into a room and chat messages are transient, not saved beyond the room's active session, and not used for any purpose other than letting people in the same room see who typed what.

Cookies and local storage

The app uses your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) to remember things like your preferred languages, sound setting, and solo practice bests, so you do not have to re-enter them every visit. This data stays on your device.

Your choices

Because there is no account and nothing is stored on our servers tied to you, there is nothing to request, export, or delete on our end for an individual person. To remove what is stored on your own device, clear your browser's local storage for this site.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above.
